Uruguay, Punta del Este, Maldonado,Piriapolis, Montevideo and Colonia.

Early arrival at Punta del Este, a nice but very expensive place!... after checking out the prices, we decided to leave towards Maldonado, a much modest  (and cheaper!) town :)
Before mankind started to come, only the seagulls owned the sand of the beach...
A plague of jellyfish took over the waters in Piriapolis... not recommended for swimming....

On the air chairs seeing another wonderful sunset...

  Piriaplois birds view

La fuente del toro, or the bull's fountain. A natural reserve of water in Piriapolis. Be aware not to climb the mountain behind without the appropriate shoes, as accidents are prompt to happen! (yes, it happened to us!)
Posing with the bull!
A horse carrying a cart, this is the recycling system in place in most Southamerican countries, where poor families collect all plastics and metals and resell them again!.

The Post Office and its old style post boxes!
Cross in the park, Montevideo, capital of Uruguay.
Monument dedicated to the fallen Jews, yes!, it seems it is falling itself! :)
Sunset sequence in Colonia, a small town where you can catch a ferry and get to Buenos Aires in just an hour!.
Sunset 2 through the sunglasses lenses!
 For Panchi with Love!
Getting to know Montevideo with Miguel, our Couch surfing host in Uruguay, although he is Brazilian, but he knows Montevideo and all its beautiful corners very well indeed!. Thanks for the beautiful days in such wonderful town!!
PS: check out the size of the doors!

Enjoying a night out in Montevideo with Miguel and his Canadian friend! Minutes before some French guys broke the main window's glass causing some chaos in this little place :)

The 'espetos' where the meat is placed and turned over constantly.(by the master Erni)
The Abends dressed in fijian style! Happy Christmas!!
Mr. Erni, with his mosquito killer racket! Something that was annoying, now became fun!

Life's boat...
View of the Lagoa, one of the natural lakes in the island of Florianopolis.

With dad Jalal and Rita eating in a very traditional restaurant south of Floripa - Pântano do Sul, after this particular meal we could not eat till the next day... wonderful food!
Turtles migrate to Florianopolis and all the Brazilian coasts.
