Three days and two nights trip in the Taman Negara jungle, Malaysia

Clean, energetic and ready for the adventure. We were meant to go with another couple but they got sick and had to cancel last minute so we got the privilege of having the tour for the two of us with a private guide!
Here is our nice jungle guide, Shafyk, the guy with the deepest sleep ever known! On our way to the north part of the jungle, an hour and a half by boat.
Which one did we take? the longest, 8km walk across the deep jungle until the Cave in Gua Kepayang.
Natural repelent
Getting prepared with the jungle's natural antimosquito, made with the  leaves of a particular plant which, when mixed with water, it works wonders!!
The lianas here have nothing to envy the one in the Tarzan's jungle!! Eduardo even got to swing in some of them.
 Butterfly pillow :)
First hours in the jungle ... imagine how the shoes ended after 3 days... and guess why we have been literally fumigated in our arrival to New Zealand airport...)
Arrival to the cave. An amazingly big cave which can fit up to 300 people inside but was only occupied by the 3 of us. We were advized by our guide to keep the fire going throughout the night to avoid wild animals from entering the cave as a safety measure. However, after a nice dinner and having a great fire we went to 'sleep', to be awaken first by a black puma (ten steps from us) and a small kind  of leopard later on... Even throwing a towel into the guider's head didn't have any effect on his deep sleep, therefore Edu and I did not have ANY sleep in case the next animals to be near us would be tigers or wild elephants.... an unforgettable tale!!
Dinner in the cave;
Waking up (well seen the morning sun after a sleepless night!) in the cave.
Day 2, walk to a close by cave, this particular one the Bat cave. Look closely for the little bats flying closely over our heads and screaming like small rats...
Super sized ants the jungle is full of super sized every thing!!!
Our bitter sweet friends, the leeches!  This small worm like things, manage to climb your trekking boots, go through your shocks and get attached to your skin sucking your blood merciless until you realize them and have to stretch them to manage to get rid of them. Then, a stream if blood covers the surrounding area of your pierced skin... highly recommended therapy in Hollywood apparently!
Thousand feet (super sized again!!)
Our second night shelter, this time luckily over the floor so we were 'well protected' from the precious creatures of the jungle!
Orang Asli tribe. A shelter build by the women of the tribe. It is their culture for man to go hunting and women to (do).... (the) rest!
Bamboo combs.

.
Because in school children are not allowed to do certain things (like carrying a 10 inches knife and run after you with it) it is very rare to see the Orang Alsi kids being educated out of the tribal borders.
Are you looking at me??

Eduardito and Ali learning to shoot like the tribal people.

And after three days of great adventures highly recommended to anyone looking for new sensations while in Malaysia, here we are in our boat back to civilization!!

O amor é lindo!

Ok, we'll do a poster when we get back with this one!
From Ko Lanta with love :) with our fishing boat awaiting.
 Lizard on the beach.

Freedom bar by night... one of our favourite venues, with Mr. Marley's rhythms and the sea waves melting together... highly recommended! And, of course, a very original tip's box!

Some of the island's naughty corners, where freedom is not only a name but a way of life :)
Rasta man vibration, yeah! positive!
Eddie learning to play with the wood stick and the breathtaking sunset on the beach, the pinkest sunset ever seen.
Shake it baby, shake it!!
Our Thai fellows with whom we had many laughs and learnt about the art of the wood stick (the guy with the mushroom is a professional!!)
I give you 10 points for the brand.
From Ko Lanta to Trang, sleeping in the border, and the next morning, crossed to  Kotah Baru, north east of Malaysia.
My dear Ali, carrying her 'little' bag around town.
Taman Negara was declared for conservation in 1938 and has become Malaysia's premier national park and the largest in the country covering over 4343 square kilometres of primary forest. Taman Negara is said to be the world's oldest rain forest.
The 45 meters high and 510 meters long walkway is the longest canopy walk in the world. The forest canopy allows you to view the rich and diverse flora and fauna at the very summit of the forest.

Even suffering from vertigo, Ali managed to go through it... such a brave girl!!! :p

I'm glad you can't see the amount of sweat after three long hours of trekking in a very steep hill.
 Ali: "we've finally made it!!".
The beautiful reward after the long walk.
Good morning, sunshine! Isn't she gorgeous?
Some of our little friends along the walk. In many sizes, shapes, colours and poisons!
A very well deserved cookie brake by the "swimming pool"

This mark shows the water level in 1971. This picture by itself wouldn't be of much help, so if you see the right picture, the photographer is at this level which means that Ali would be entirely inside the water

The snake charmer is playing with an unexpected guest! We were just hoping the owner was telling the truth about its poison.
